Inside Trek CheckOut: The Development Story

We gave Trek CheckOut our “Drop-Bar bike of the Year” award in 2025 for a few reasons. While plenty of people had made full suspension gravel bikes in the past, the CheckOut went above and beyond, considering every aspect of the bike, down to custom racks and working with RockShox on a new fork. Travis’s review tackled this granularity with a fine comb and in this video, Trek goes through the development of this unique gravel offering…

Fairlight Faran 3.0 in Iridescent Plum

British bike brand Fairlight just announced that its popular Faran 3.0 is now available in Iridescent Plum. This new hue shifts from deep blue to Quality Street purple, depending on the angle of view and light, thanks to this high-quality iridescent wet paint. There is no surcharge for this option on the Faran. The amount of design details on these frames is superb. The technology and design details are shared with the Fairlight Strael 4.0 and Secan 3.0, such as Bentley x Fairlight Mk3 dropouts, custom-formed flat ovalised rear-triangle, CNC hose guides & 3D printed BB guides. And of course, a custom Reynolds tubeset all in a £999 frameset.

Pivot Les SL Drop Bar 29er Hardtail Review

Pivot Cycles is now offering its lauded Les SL hardtail in a drop-bar configuration ($6399) straight from the factory. With gravel tire clearance demands creeping up, why not just add drop bars to an ultralight XC hardtail? The New 2026 Santa Cruz Stigmata is Back in Black

Back in 2015, Santa Cruz resurrected the Stigmata, its drop bar ‘cross bike. John took home a Stigmata from the New Zealand launch and put some heavy miles on it. The new Stiggy was offered in a shadow-piercing orange paint that popped against the lush, green forests of New Zealand. But it was the shadow-consuming black and white paint job that looked so fitting on the bike. Still to this day, the black and white Stigmata livery is one of the most iconic paint jobs the brand has offered. New for 2026, the Stigmata is offered in two colors: green and black, a fitting throwback to that original tonal paint job.

The 2026 Stigmata is available as a frame for $2799, or build kits starting at $4149.

The Normal Bike for Weird People: Drust Heckmeck Review

Heckmeck is a word that captures a certain German flavor of chaos — and also the perfect name for a bike from Drust Cycles that has no business being as good as it is. Built in Berlin by Konstantin Drust, the Heckmeck is his first attempt at something “normal,” which of course makes it deeply strange. Our European correspondent Petor Georgallou presents something resembling a straight bike review — or at least as close as he gets. Join the chaos…

Norco Search C Frame Review: Modern Gravel Done Right

With the third generation of Norco’s Search C gravel bike, the brand rolled out some great frame details and modern gravel geometry. With plenty of cargo capacity, including a top tube mount, three water bottle cage mounts, and integrated downtube storage, the Search is a capable backroads companion. Spencer found the bike refreshing in its lack of proprietary suspension and inspiring with its MTB-influenced layout. See his review below…
