The New Mura Cycling Trousers Have “Bike Mode”

We highlighted Czech Republic-based Mura Cycling in our Bespoked Dresden coverage. Mura makes cycling apparel for men and women using natural fibers and deadstock materials. The brand just announced these new cycling trousers with a lot of clever detailing. They have a built-in hip belt for ever-changing bellies and our favorite detail: a “Bike mode” closure on the right leg. There are four pockets and two loops to hang your tools in a durable 50/50 cotton/polyester ripstop weave.

This garment was made from dead stock material. The stock is therefore limited. THIS GARMENT IS MADE TO ORDER. The production time is 2-3 weeks until shipping.

The Fauna Components Cargo Cage is Adjustable

Fauna Components is based in Vancouver, BC and is woman-owned. The brand launched with its stainless steel, adjustable Cargo Cage ($45), designed to last a lifetime. At just 52 g each, these cages are among the lightest on the market. Designed to last a lifetime, it’s laser-cut from 3 mm stainless steel, CNC-bent into shape, and then tumbled to a satin finish. With no anodizing to chip and no paint to wear through, it’ll stay looking sharp, trip after trip.

Unlike other cages that are stationary, the Fauna Components Cargo Cage allows you to adjust its mounting height. Got tall cargo bags that hit your downtube? See if you can mount them lower on your cargo bosses. Or perhaps your fork has off-center or misaligned bottle mounts? Adjust the mounting position to be nice and square. There’s even a removable stainless-steel foot; leave it off for an ultra-light setup.

The Fauna Components Cargo Cage is rated to carry 3 kg (6.6 lb) on even the most jostle-filled jaunts.

Kait Boyle and Her 6-Year Journey Back to 24-Hour World Championships

In 2018 Kait Boyle became the first woman to complete 18 laps solo at 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo, a record that has stood for the last 7 years. That result set her on a trajectory to go on and set a record in the Arizona Trail 300 self-supported bikepacking race and win the 24-hour World Championship later that year.

She had dreams of a career in ultra-endurance racing that would show the world how women can race with the strongest people in the field and that ultimately, you are unlimited. But a life-threatening car accident just 2 months after winning the World Championship changed the trajectory of that dream.
