NOBL’s new flagship mountain lineup features six purpose-built wheelsets, each developed around one idea: creating the ultimate wheel for each discipline. Every model has been engineered specifically for its category to extract every meaningful performance advantage for the rider. Industry-leading weight and strength are just the starting point. The true focus was on-trail performance; optimizing torsional flex to deliver incredible compliance and traction across the line.

Each Ethos model is engineered around a specific strength target, weight, and ride feel, using new rim designs, Berd spokes, and an all-new Ethos Ti70 hub developed specifically for the system.

At the front of the lineup sits a bold statement: the Ethos SL180 weighs just 993 grams, making it the lightest 30mm internal-width production XC wheelset in the world — built with a full 28 spokes per wheel.

Hubs

Ethos Ti70 Hub: Built to match the performance of Ethos rims and the world’s lightest spokes. Developed in collaboration with Berd and Erase Components, it pairs a lightweight titanium freehub with a 70-tooth ratchet for a crisp 5.14° engagement. Berd’s proprietary Hook Flange design makes spoke installation secure and straightforward while optimizing strength at the interface, and ensuring compatibility with Berd Polylight X spokes.

DT180s are used on the SL180 wheelset to achieve our sub-1000g goal while maintaining reliable performance. Ethos Ti70 hubs are used for the SL, XC, Trail, and Enduro wheelsets. The HD wheelsets use Erase J-Bend hubs.

Spokes

Berd spokes are the mainstay of the Ethos lineup, weighing less than half as much as steel spokes while offering higher tensile strength. Their primary advantage, however, is their material behaviour. The fibre construction absorbs vibrations, reducing trail feedback and improving traction.

Rims

The Ethos lineup introduces new rims engineered to improve impact durability, ride quality, and discipline-specific performance.

Flared Hookless Bead Profile: Rims flare outward at the outer diameter, creating a larger surface area that more effectively absorbs and disperses energy into the sidewalls for improved durability.
Tapered Bead Wall Construction: Bead thickness tapers above and below the impact zone to optimize strength while reducing unnecessary material and weight.
Integrated Flexible Material: A flexible, energy-dispersing material is incorporated into the rim bead to improve resistance to vertical and off-axis impacts without adding weight.
Front- and Rear-Specific Rims: Dedicated front and rear designs for XC, Trail and Enduro refine handling characteristics, increasing compliance and reducing weight at the front and increasing durability in the rear.
Concave Sidewall Geometry: Extensive testing resulted in a concave sidewall shape that optimizes torsional flexibility.
